Nature
The cities of Lebanon, New Hampshire, and Hartford, Vermont, stand at the confluence of three rivers that have been central to human existence in the Upper Valley since the days of the indigenous Abenaki people. The Connecticut River (Kwanitekw Zibo), Mascoma River (Mazalôpskok Zibo), and White River (Wôbatekw Zibo) provided sustenance and transportation and held significant cultural and spiritual value to the Abenaki people. Public access to the riverfront can help reestablish this connection for all.
