The Mt. Beacon Fire Observation Tower stands on the summit of South Beacon Mountain in Beacon, New York, where it served as a fire lookout over the surrounding landscape from a high point above the Hudson River. Built for forest fire observation, it later gained recognition as a historic structure and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2009. The tower remains significant both for its original public safety role and for its prominent location on the mountain summit above the city of Beacon.
