The T-Rail Express
Industry
The T-rail style railroad rail was perfected locally in the Montour Iron Works, and the manufacturing of iron from local iron ore and coal was extremely important in Danville's history. T-rail made in Danville allowed trains to travel all over the United States of America. Throughout the 2017-2018 school year, kindergarten through second-grade students participated in an Artist-in-Residency Program, and blacksmith Doug Firestone, who visited Miss Jessica Noel's art classes, educated students on the process of forging iron. In honor of Danville's history, this train was constructed by Mr. Firestone and fellow artist Anne Alexander using scrap donations from the Danville community.
