Rupert Covered Bridge was built in 1847 and rehabilitated in 2000. The property has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places by the United States Department of the Interior. Columbia County Commissioners William M. Soberick, Chairman, Chris E. Young, and Leroy O. Diehl were associated with the project, with Gail S. Kipp as project coordinator, Larson Design Group, Inc. as design consultant engineer, and Lycoming Supply, Inc. as contractor.
