Seven Fingered Jack is a prominent mountain in Washington’s North Cascades, rising about four miles south of Holden in the Glacier Peak Wilderness of Wenatchee National Forest. With Mount Maude and Mount Fernow, it forms the Entiat Cirque, a three-peak group whose high ridge sends the headwaters of the Entiat River eastward. Sources place its elevation between 9,022 and 9,100 feet, but all agree it is among Washington’s highest summits. Glaciers lie on and around the peak, which also divides the Entiat and Wenatchee river basins. Once called the Entiat Needles, it received its present name from Albert H. Sylvester, a prolific regional place-namer.
