Carne Mountain is a double-summit peak in Washington’s Entiat Mountains on the edge of the Glacier Peak Wilderness, rising just over 7,080 feet. East of the Cascade crest, it stands in a drier part of the range but still receives heavy winter snow, with runoff draining toward Rock Creek and Phelps Creek. Its rugged setting reflects the North Cascades’ history of uplift, faulting, volcanism, and repeated Pleistocene glaciation, with Glacier Peak nearby to the west. Reached by a steep trail, it was once the site of a fire lookout and is now valued as a hiking destination and broad viewpoint over surrounding summits.
