Horsetrough Mountain is a 4,045-foot peak in northeastern Georgia on the boundary of Union and White counties, within the Chattahoochee National Forest and the Mark Trail Wilderness. Its main ridge carries the Eastern Continental Divide, giving it unusual geographic importance: water flowing south and east eventually reaches the Atlantic Ocean, while water flowing north and west drains toward the Gulf of Mexico. Streams rising on the mountain contribute to the headwaters of the Chattahoochee River and the West Fork Little River. The Appalachian Trail follows the main ridge, and Horsetrough Falls lies on the mountain’s southern side.
