Eagle Falls
Nature
1
Eagle Falls is a waterfall on the South Fork Skykomish River in Washington, just below Baring and the uppermost falls on that stretch of river. It drops about 25 feet in a powerful cascade into a deep green pool. In summer, the pool, surrounding riverbanks, and cliffs rising up to 60 feet make the area a popular place for swimming and other recreation, helped by a rope swing. The falls also attract expert kayakers, who sometimes attempt the class 5+ rapid, a difficulty suitable only for extremely experienced paddlers. At least one such attempt has been fatal.
