T Lake Falls
Nature
T Lake Falls is a remote waterfall in Hamilton County, New York, in the West Canada Lake Wilderness Area of the Adirondacks, often regarded as the tallest waterfall in the state, though reported heights vary from about 350 to 600 feet. Reached by several hiking routes, it has long attracted visitors for its dramatic setting, swimming hole, and winter ice climbing. Its scale and isolation have also made it dangerous, and several fatal accidents occurred there between 1960 and 1993. Because rescues require difficult wilderness evacuations, the path beyond T Lake and its lean-to was closed and is no longer maintained, though the falls remain a striking central Adirondack landmark.
