Mount Grant is an 8,590-foot peak in northwestern Montana’s Flathead Range, west of the Continental Divide, within the Great Bear Wilderness and Flathead National Forest. Rising near Great Northern Mountain, it is distinguished by steep relief on both sides, climbing about 5,030 feet above Hungry Horse Reservoir to the west and the Middle Fork Flathead Valley to the east. Water from its slopes drains east into Tunnel Creek and west toward the reservoir. Its alpine subarctic climate brings long, cold, snowy winters, cool to warm summers, year-round precipitation, frequent summer thunderstorms, and conditions that sustain the Grant Glacier on its east slope.
