Logging and Saw Mills
Industry
4
Logging and lumber were a big part of Fife Lake’s history. Vast forests of massive virgin timber were logged by hardworking men and their teams of horses. Sawmills were built on the edge of the lake so logs could be floated to the mills for processing. Hagadorn’s Mill and Codd’s Mill stood close to the railroad, making the sale and shipping of lumber convenient.
