Magic Mountain is a 7,610-foot peak in Washington’s North Cascades, southeast of Cascade Pass on the boundary between North Cascades National Park and the Glacier Peak Wilderness, and between Skagit and Chelan counties. At the northern end of the well-known Ptarmigan Traverse, it stands among nearby summits including Pelton Peak and Hurry-up Peak. Glaciers cling to its north flank, and its runoff feeds both the Stehekin and Cascade river systems. The mountain is part of a North Cascades landscape formed over millions of years by volcanic activity, terrane accretion, and Pleistocene glaciation, then shaped further by the region’s wet marine climate and heavy winter snowfall.
