S Glacier
Nature
S Glacier lies in Washington's North Cascades National Park on the east slopes of Hurry-up Peak. Extending from about 7,600 feet down to 5,500 feet, it is not a single unbroken mass but a glacier divided into several disconnected sections. Its highest parts end in icefalls, and its lower section terminates in talus, creating a fragmented form rather than a continuous flow. Yawning Glacier lies roughly 0.75 mile to the north. The glacier is notable for this broken, discontinuous character within the rugged alpine landscape.
