Rattlesnake Ridge
Nature
Rattlesnake Ridge is the long crest of Rattlesnake Mountain south of North Bend, stretching from near Snoqualmie southeast across the eastern edge of the Issaquah Alps. Known especially for its trail system and the prominent overlook at Rattlesnake Ledge above Rattlesnake Lake, it is one of the most popular mountain outings near Seattle. The ridge combines public and private ownership, reflecting both protected scenic land and a history of substantial logging. Its marine west coast climate brings frequent rain and winter snow, while clearer summers draw heavy recreational use. That popularity has also brought repeated fatal falls at the exposed ledges.
