Originally built circa 1740 on Sterling Creek in the Village of Sterling (Greenport) as the inn of Lt. Constant Booth, this house was moved about 1810 to North Road and became the home of Orange Webb. It was later acquired by George R. Latham and moved again in 1955 to Orient by barge. In 1757, Col. George Washington stopped at the inn while traveling from Boston to Virginia.
