Memorial Stadium hosted its first game on April 15, 1954, and its last game on October 6, 1991. On October 6, 1966, the Baltimore Orioles defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers to win their first World Series. On July 11, 1987, Cal Ripken, Sr. became the first and only father to manage two sons in MLB. Since Cal, Sr.'s passing, no Baltimore Orioles player has worn Number 7 even though it has not been retired.
