Hole-in-the-Wall Falls, also called Warren Falls, is a ninety-six-foot man-made waterfall on Warren Creek in Starvation Creek State Park in Oregon’s Columbia Gorge, with a main drop of sixty feet. It was created in 1938 when Warren Creek was diverted through a tunnel to prevent washouts along the Columbia River Highway. The water’s emergence through an opening in the rock gave the falls their name. This engineering project also ended the flow of an earlier natural cascade, Warren Creek Falls, which had been formed by the same creek.
