Thomas Hannan

Thomas Hannan, born 1755 and died 1835, was a soldier in the Revolution and the first white settler in Cabell County. He blazed a trace from Saint Albans to Chilicothe that bears his name. This was the first road to enter Cabell and Mason Counties. Hannan owned 5,800 acres of land in these counties and is buried in a private cemetery nearby.
