Nature
McLean National Wildlife Refuge is a 760-acre refuge in North Dakota that combines public land with a large easement area on privately owned property, with a little less than half its acreage on public lands. Its resources are protected through a cooperative arrangement between private landowners and the U.S. government. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service manages the refuge from offices at Audubon National Wildlife Refuge. Originally named Lake Susie National Wildlife Refuge, it was renamed McLean National Wildlife Refuge in the 1990s.
