Butte Falls Ranger Station in Butte Falls, Oregon, is a historic Forest Service compound within the Rogue River–Siskiyou National Forest, built beginning in 1935 by the Civilian Conservation Corps and designed by United States Forest Service architects. Its collection of eight contributing buildings preserves a coherent New Deal-era administrative complex in the rustic style used for Depression-era forest facilities. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986 for its architecture, the site includes the 1938 station building, the 1936 Ranger’s Residence and garage, and Residence No. 1001. Their knotty-pine finishes and pine-tree cutouts reflect the Forest Service’s forest-themed design tradition and CCC craftsmanship.
