Wagner Farm Arboretum in Warren Township, New Jersey, occupies 92.6 acres as open land for gardening, recreation, education, and volunteer service. After the township bought the former Wagner Farm property in 2001, plans for an arboretum followed in 2002, and a nonprofit formed in 2004 to guide its development. Its programs joined horticulture with community service and learning. A Community Garden opened in 2007, and the Giving Garden Project, begun that year, had provided more than 100,000 pounds of produce to people in need by 2017. The Growing To Give program and a Children’s Garden further connected environmental education, exploration, and community support.
