Northwest Park in Windsor, Connecticut, along the Farmington River in the Poquonock section, is a municipally owned landscape of 473 acres that blends recreation, environmental education, and local history. Its forests, fields, and trails support hiking, cross-country skiing, and other seasonal activities, while the grounds include soccer fields, a playground, picnic areas, a maple sugar house, and a barn with farmyard animals. Near the entrance, the nature center offers exhibits and programs on natural history, geology, and meteorology, and the Luddy/Taylor Connecticut Valley Tobacco Museum preserves the lower Connecticut River valley’s tobacco heritage. Concerts and a fall country fair also make it a community gathering place.
