Bonanza Peak rises in Washington’s North Cascades within the Glacier Peak Wilderness of the Wenatchee National Forest. At 9,516 feet, it is the highest point in Chelan County and the highest non-volcanic peak in Washington and the entire Cascade Range. Its great relief and 3,711-foot prominence make it one of the state’s more prominent summits, and its upper slopes are bordered by Company, Mary Green, and Isella Glaciers. Water from the mountain drains toward Lake Chelan through Agnes, Company, and Railroad Creeks. Its present name resulted from a 1904 mapping error, and its first recorded ascent was made in 1937 by three Mazamas climbers.
