Kingda Ka was a hydraulically launched steel roller coaster at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey, built by Intamin to a design by Werner Stengel. Opening in 2005, it became the world’s tallest and fastest roller coaster and the second strata coaster, rising 456 feet with a launch from 0 to 128 miles per hour in 3.5 seconds. A signature attraction in the park’s Golden Kingdom area, it was celebrated for its extreme height, speed, and dramatic top hat tower, but its complex machinery also led to notable breakdowns and closures. Permanent closure was announced in 2024, and the ride was demolished in 2025.
