Rawah Wilderness is a federally protected wilderness area in northern Colorado near the Wyoming border, administered by the U.S. Forest Service. Most of it lies within the Canyon Lakes Ranger District of Roosevelt National Forest, with a southern portion extending into Routt National Forest. Spanning 76,394 acres, it covers rugged mountain terrain associated with the Medicine Bow Mountains and the Rawah Range. Its elevations rise from about 8,400 feet to 13,000 feet, supporting landscapes from forested valleys to alpine country. The area is especially notable for its 25 named lakes and 85 miles of trails, along with sharply changing seasonal conditions.
