Albert Okura, born December 3, 1951, and dying January 27, 2023, believed from early in life that he had a destiny. In 1984 he founded the restaurant chain Juan Pollo, modeling it in part on Ray Kroc, whom he viewed as one of his biggest influences while growing up during the booming fast-food industry of the 1950s and 60s. In 1998 he purchased the property that was the site of the Original McDonald's and established a museum to commemorate McDonald's earliest history. He believed it was his destiny to sell more chicken than anyone in the world, and the museum continues to honor his life and legacy.
