Allen David Broussard Catfish Creek Preserve State Park is a protected Florida preserve about ten miles east of Dundee, off U.S. 27, within the Atlantic coastal plain. Valued for natural habitats rather than built attractions, it supports an unusually diverse range of wildlife, including cougars, deer, bobcats, coyotes, wood storks, bald eagles, Florida scrub jays, gopher tortoises, Florida scrub lizards, salamanders, coral snakes, and American alligators. In 2024, an addition was announced that included land fronting Lake Pierce as part of the broader Catfish Creek Florida Forever Project. The park is open daily from 8 a.m. until sundown, including holidays, with no entrance charge.
