Community spirit led to the construction of Lafayette Town Hall by the Lafayette Improvement Club. Frank and Rose Ghiglione donated the land, and the townspeople provided funds and labor. A grand opening ball and midnight supper were held on May 1, 1914. Since then, the hall has been a center of community life. Town Hall was declared a city landmark in 1978.
