Swanton and its community honored the valiant men who served in World War 1917 - 1918 and gave the ultimate sacrifice: William Bixler, Elmer A. Michael, Ignatius M. Camp, Herbert C. Murbach, Clifton Curtis, Albert Schwyn, Ross G. Graham, Frederick Albert Siefert, Merl L. Greenfield, John Lawrence Siefert, E. Howard, Walter Skeels, Herman P. Jinski, and Perry Odell Stratton. They were held in grateful hearts with reverence and honor forever, and this dedication was erected in 1926.
