Rapidan Camp included a group of roads, trails, and structures shown for the 1930s and for the present. Its original structures included Five Tents, the first structure built, whose ruins are still visible today; Trails End, a guest cabin; Ishbel, a guest cabin named for the Prime Minister’s daughter who visited; The Slums, usually occupied by Mrs. Hoover’s secretaries; Town Hall, a social hall; Duty Office, used by Secret Service and Marines; Quarters, occupied by the chief commissary officer; The Owl, a guest cabin; Mess Hall, where most meals were served; and Mess Servants Quarters. Present features include The Brown House, the Hoovers’ residence, now historically refurnished and open for seasonal tours; The Fountain; Outdoor Fireplace; The Creel, a cabin used by Hoover’s physician and aide and now housing camp volunteers; and The Prime Minister, a guest cabin named for the British Prime Minister who visited and now housing an exhibit.
