Cherry Valley Junction was the site of the Cherry Valley, Sharon, and Albany Railroad, whose first run took place on June 15, 1870, and whose last run occurred on August 17, 1956. The railroad extended 20.9 miles and had depots at Hyndsville, Seward, Sharon Springs, and Cherry Valley.
