Easley Covered Bridge in Rosa, Alabama, spans Dub Branch of the Calvert Prong of the Little Warrior River and is one of the few surviving covered bridges in Blount County. Built in 1927 by a crew led by Forrest Tidwell and Zelma C. Tidwell, the wood and metal bridge uses a town lattice truss over a single span. Among the county’s three remaining historic covered bridges, it is the oldest and shortest. Closed in 2009 after unsafe conditions were found, it was restored beginning in 2011 and reopened in 2012. Its significance was recognized by state and national historic registers, and it remains protected and maintained as a rare survivor of early 20th-century rural bridge building.
