Media, in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, includes the former Pennsylvania National Guard Armory at 12 East State Street, which now houses the Pennsylvania Veterans Museum; a central business district from Gayley to Orange Streets with shops, restaurants, and services for visitors and residents; the Delaware County Courthouse at 201 West Front Street, reflecting Media's role as the county seat where thousands of people conduct legal and governmental business each day; the Delaware County Institute of Science at 11 Veterans Square, established in 1833 to promote the people of Delaware County and the study and diffusion of general knowledge, and maintaining a museum of natural and area history; Media Borough Hall and Police Station at 301 North Jackson Street, where the Borough Administration and Police Department share a building that provides community services and includes two rooms for rental, the Community Center and Mansion Parlor Room; the Media Theatre at 104 East State Street, operated by the Society for the Performing Arts and presenting professional musical performances; the Media-Upper Providence Library at Front and Jackson Streets, with books, videos, CD ROMS, internet access, a Reference Room, and a Historical Archives Room; and the Minshall House at Front Street and Providence Road, Media's oldest house, furnished with period furniture and antiques.
