Men and women who served in the armed forces of the United States of America are honored in memory and gratitude for service in World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Gulf War, and peacetime America. America is portrayed as something understood and truly loved through separation, isolation, and yearning, and freedom as something not free. Honor is also given to veterans, to the spouses who endured, and to children who went without so that others could have freedom.
