Sentinel Peak is a 9,634-foot mountain in Inyo County, California, near the former mining town of Panamint City. Rising in the Panamint Range within Death Valley National Park and the wider Mojave Desert, it is the sixth-highest summit in the range. The mountain also forms a local drainage divide: water from its east slope flows toward Death Valley through Johnson Canyon, while runoff from its west slope descends toward Panamint Valley through Happy and Surprise canyons.
