Sater’s Church was a pioneer of the Maryland Baptist denomination and the “Mother Church” of the Baptists of Maryland. Founded by Henry Sater, who lived from 1690 to 1754, it was associated with his resolute and inflexible character as he carried his religion with him, and its moral, mental, and spiritual work was regarded as knowable only through eternity interpreted by God.
