Mount Shasta Ski Park
Nature
Mount Shasta Ski Park is the only operating lift-served ski area on Mount Shasta and functions as a year-round recreation area on the mountain’s lower southern flanks. Opened in 1985 in terrain considered safe from avalanches after the earlier Mount Shasta Ski Bowl closed, it offers winter skiing, snowboarding, tubing, lessons, and backcountry lodging, with summer chairlift rides, mountain biking, and disc golf. The park includes 636 skiable acres, 38 trails, and 1,435 feet of vertical drop, with terrain focused mainly on intermediate skiers. A 2022 expansion added Grey Butte, seven new runs, and the park’s first double-diamond route.
