At Westminster on March 13, 1775, William French was shot in the courthouse at about eleven o'clock at night and died in the twenty-second year of his age; Daniel Houghton was also shot there. French, identified as the son of Mr. Nathaniel French, was remembered as having been killed by supporters of George III, and a verse declared that he lost his life and dearest blood for liberty and his country's good.
