Mount Woodring is an 11,595-foot peak in Wyoming’s Teton Range within Grand Teton National Park, rising west of Leigh Lake between Leigh Canyon and Paintbrush Canyon in a rugged, glacially carved landscape. Commonly climbed from Paintbrush Divide via the Paintbrush Canyon Trail, it stands among the dramatic eastern front peaks of the Tetons, though it is less famous than some nearby summits. The mountain was named for Samuel Woodring, the park’s first superintendent, who served from 1929 to 1934. That name later became disputed, and by 2025 a formal proposal sought to rename the peak Mount Equality, with no final federal decision yet made.
