Nature
Mount Breitenbach rises to 12,140 feet in Idaho’s Lost River Range within Salmon-Challis National Forest. It is the state’s fifth-highest peak and the range’s fourth-highest, making it one of the major summits in this rugged part of central Idaho. The mountain stands among a closely packed cluster of other high peaks, including Mount Church, its line parent, Donaldson Peak, No Regret Peak, and Lost River Peak. Its position among these neighboring summits highlights the concentration of lofty mountains in this section of the range.
