Upper Curtis Glacier lies on the west slopes of Mount Shuksan in Washington’s North Cascades National Park. It forms part of the icefields and glaciers that cover the mountain’s upper flanks and is one piece of the larger glacial system surrounding Mount Shuksan. Though it shares the Curtis name with Lower Curtis Glacier farther downslope to the southwest, the two are not connected. Instead, Upper Curtis Glacier joins Hanging Glacier to the north and Sulphide Glacier to the east, showing how the mountain’s glaciers are linked in some places while remaining separate in others.
