White Salmon Glacier lies on the west slopes of Mount Shuksan in Washington's North Cascades National Park. Instead of forming one continuous body of ice, it consists of a series of small glaciers descending north from the ridge called Shuksan Arm. The glacier also serves an important role in access to the mountain, as a climbing route crosses it to reach Fisher Chimney. That approach provides a faster way to the summit of Mount Shuksan than other routes, giving the glacier significance both as a geographic feature and as part of a practical ascent.
