The Israel and Samuel Lupfer Tannery Site and House, also known as the Monterey Tannery, in Toboyne Township, Pennsylvania, preserves the remains of a substantial nineteenth-century tanning operation together with a stone residence built around 1852. The site is significant for linking industrial archaeological evidence with a surviving house, offering a tangible view of a local leather-making enterprise and the way such work was rooted in both industry and domestic life. Its historical importance was formally recognized when it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.
