Green Lake Glacier lies in Washington’s North Cascades National Park just northeast of Bacon Peak on a ridge extending east from the mountain. In a rugged alpine landscape shaped by ice and steep relief, the glacier descends down the ridge’s north side in two tongues, falling from about 6,600 feet to 5,500 feet. The ridge is an arête that separates Green Lake Glacier from Diobsud Creek Glacier to the south. Meltwater from the glacier passes over Bacon Lake Falls on its way to Green Lake, tying the ice directly to the terrain and waters below.
