Bacon Peak rises in North Cascades National Park in Washington as part of the Cascade Range, in a notably rugged landscape of sharp ridges, deep glacial valleys, and steep sculpted slopes. Ice is one of its defining features, with glaciers covering about 1.2 square miles of the mountain, including Diobsud Creek Glacier, Green Lake Glacier, and Noisy Creek Glacier. Its setting in the marine west coast climate brings heavy Pacific moisture, wet dense snow, and significant avalanche danger.
