Sutherland Trail
Nature
Sutherland Trail is a ten and a half-mile route in Catalina State Park in Oro Valley, north of Tucson, Arizona, that continues into the Coronado National Forest trail system and links with routes climbing toward Mount Lemmon in the Santa Catalina Mountains. Named for the Sutherland family, who lived in the area in the 1800s, it remains significant as one of the park’s main longer trails and as a connection between the desert foothills near Tucson and the higher mountain terrain beyond.
