Oswald Dome, also called Bean Mountain, is a 3,022-foot peak in the Cherokee National Forest of southeastern Tennessee. Rising on the western edge of the Blue Ridge province and near the Unicoi Mountains, it stands at a distinct transition between two major Appalachian regions, where the terrain falls away westward toward the Ridge-and-Valley province. The Hiwassee River borders its northern base, and a saddle connects it to Chilhowee Mountain along the same ridge. Accessible by Oswald Dome Road and trails such as Lowry Cove Trail, the summit has long supported radio and television transmitters, and its former fire tower was moved in 2004 to the Ocoee Whitewater Center.
