The Newfane Civil War Monument honors the men of Newfane who served their country in the Civil War from 1861 to 1865, invokes the dead with the lines, “On fames eternal camping ground their silent tents are spread, and glory guards, with solemn round, the bivouac of the dead,” and records by name those remembered from the town. It also includes a Newfane Roll of Honor for World War 1917 to 1918, listing additional named service members.
