The Ramparts are a subrange of the Park Ranges in the Canadian Rockies, extending along the Continental Divide between Alberta and British Columbia. Part of the range lies in Jasper National Park, and its western side reaches into Mount Robson Provincial Park. Forming the western wall of Tonquin Valley, they rise above Amethyst Lake to the east and the headwaters of the Fraser River to the west. The group has 10 named summits, with Mount Geikie the highest. Names given largely by the Alpine Club of Canada, including Bastion, Parapet, Redoubt, Postern, and Dungeon, emphasize the range’s likeness to a fortified mountain barrier.
