Dungeon Peak is a 3,129-metre mountain on the Alberta–British Columbia border, where Jasper National Park meets Mount Robson Provincial Park. Part of The Ramparts in the Tonquin Valley, it stands within a striking section of the Canadian Rockies. Morrison P. Bridgland, a Dominion Land Surveyor who named many summits in Jasper Park and elsewhere in the Rockies, gave the peak its descriptive name in 1916. The Geographical Names Board of Canada officially adopted that name in 1935. The mountain lies in a subarctic climate, with cold, snowy winters, mild summers, and winter temperatures that can drop below -20 °C, with wind chill below -30 °C.
